“Literary Series – Constructing and Deconstructing the Canon”

 

 

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to an academic conference “Literary Series - Constructing and Deconstructing the Canon”.  It will be held online from 26 to 27 November 2020.

 The main thematic areas are:

  • Literary series: Bulgarian, Slavic, Balkan, European and world
  • Literary series as an anthological form
  • Forgotten series and famous books
  • Forgotten names: publishers, compilers, editors
  • Literary series in the marginality of the scholar research.

 

The languages of the conference are: Bulgarian, English and Russian.

Dear colleagues,

 

We are pleased to invite you to an academic conference “Literature and Technology”. It will be held from 9 to 10 March 2018 in the New conference room of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

 

The main thematic areas are:

Literary interpretations of the modern technological inventions.

Cultural and philosophical dimensions of technology in the age of Modernity.

Bulgarian literary modernity and technology.

Avant-garde and technology.

Children’s and youth literature and technology.

 

The languages of the conference are: Bulgarian, English and Russian.

The papers will be published by December 2018. The deadline for submitting papers for publication is March 16, 2018.

 

There is no conference fee. Participants attending the conference are expected to cover their travel, food and accommodation expenses.

The International sociolinguistic society in Sofia (ISOLISO) is organizing the 13th International conference in sociolinguistics – INSOLICO’13

 

General topic

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND THEIR IMPACT ON LANGUAGE

 

Sub-topics

  • Migration and Language Situations
  • National and Linguistic Identity in Contemporary World
  • Discourses of Culture and Language Variability
  • Digital Society and Linguistic Practices
  • Political Situation and Language Policy
  • Dynamics of Linguistic Markers – Norms and Variability
  • Public Opinion and Language Attitude

 

Date: 19-20 October 2017.

Place: Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”

Deadline for proposals: May 15, 2017 by e-mail to the address above.

Conference fee: 25Euro (50 bg leva) for non-member of INSOLISO, 15 euro for members and 10 euro for students.

Languages: Bulgarian, English or all Slavic languages

Duration of presentation: 15 minutes.

Proceedings are going to appear as Volume 13 of “Sociolinguistic issues” (text limit 14 400 ch.).

I N V I T A T I O N 

for participation in an International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD Students

 

Dear colleagues,

The Faculty of Slavic Studies is proud to invite you to The First International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD students which will be held from 13 to 16 November 2014 in the central building of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

The areas in which we expect your abstracts are: Literary Studies, Linguistics, Old Bulgarian Studies, Folklore and Cultural Anthropology, and Methodology of Teaching Bulgarian Language and Literature.

 

A series of lectures of eminent Bulgarian scientists are provided within the Forum as well as scientific discussions at the center “Ivan Dujčevand at the National  Museum of History. The program includes round tables on the following topics: “Bulgarian Studies Abroad”, Undergraduate and Graduate Student Exchange”, “Political and Journalistic Speech”, “Modeling Language for Software Applications”, “Education and New Media”. A reading with the participation of famous Bulgarian writers and an exhibition of books of university teachers and students will be arranged.

 

The last day, the 16th of November, 2014, is scheduled for a visit to the Rila Monastery.

 

The abstracts will be reviewed by an international scientific committee.

Working languages for the Forum are all Slavic languages and English.

Time given to the paper presentation – 15 minutes.

The materials of the Forum will be collected until 15 January 2015. After a scientific selection and editing, they will be published in the series “Dissertations” of the e-journal of the Faculty of Slavic Studies „Littera et Lingua“[1]. Distinguished papers will be published in the specialized editions of the Faculty of Slavic Studies as well („Българска реч“, „Литературата”, „Littera et Lingua“ and „Съпоставително езикознание“).

 

Application form

 

All the students are exempt from a participation fee.

The accommodation expenses for foreign participants who prefer to be housed in a dormitory shall be borne by the organizers.
